New Longworth chuck - pinky - 09-11-2014

Just received a Longworth from BloomingtonMike. Got it quickly, well made, and priced right. Tried it out today. 15" walnut bowl.

Can't make my mind up which I'd like to have more......the chuck or a chunk of walnut that big!. Nice job, looks great.

I would prefer the Oneway lathe.

Nice bowl, chuck, and lathe!

Will stick with my donut and jam chucks, yours has to many moving parts.

Very good, I've been thinking of a Longworth for my benchtop lathe.

Where did you get the hardware from?

Just notice this thread was from last year

Re: New Longworth chuck - pinky - 09-03-2015

I made the hardware with bolts and cut rubber hose that fit snug on the bolts.

That is a great idea! Does it work well?

Works great. Bought a foot of hose from NAPA. Took a bolt with for fit. Just make sure you use some lacquer thinner on the hose to clean off residue or it will transfer to your piece and don't ask how I know that.
