Book rack for baby - Ohio Mike - 08-19-2015 Wife asked me to build a baby's book rack similar to this one for our niece's baby shower. In the FINISHING forum last week I asked for advice on painting it. Thank goodness she decided she liked BLO/Poly better. (Note: It really pays to make up a sample board and show them how beautiful straight-grain douglas fir is.) I don't know the dimensions of the one that inspired the project, but I'm sure mine is a bit smaller. At only 17" high and 24" long, it is designed to sit right next to Mama's chair to make choosing a book for baby quick and easy. Thanks, Mike Re: Book rack for baby - Gary G™ - 08-19-2015 Your version is an heirloom apparent. Re: Book rack for baby - Ohio Mike - 08-19-2015 Re: Book rack for baby - Bill_de - 08-19-2015 Hey Mike you're laughing, but I agree with Gary. Yours looks much better than the original. Hopefully your wife sees it that way. As long as you used long nails it should last through many generations. --- Re: Book rack for baby - DaveinOhio - 08-20-2015 Mike, I'm with Bill and Gary. Yours is much better than the inspiration piece. Dave Re: Book rack for baby - Ohio Mike - 08-20-2015 Thanks guys, And the best news of all.......... LOML loves it! Mike Re: Book rack for baby - SawDat - 08-21-2015 So how long before the niece uses it as a reading chair. Nice item, be sure to sign it for posterity.
