Dressing Up Slab Doors - daveferg - 06-09-2016

Our new home is very nice, but still has builder slab doors. Our fix-up budget is already extended, so replacing the doors (which are in good shap). Looking for hints on applying trim to the doors. Have read that using construction adhesive is a good way to attach trim.

Also sinc the paint on the doors is in good shape (white), thinking of different color for trim if matching the white is too difficult.

Any suggestions welcome.

apply a picture frame moulding to the door to make it look like a fancy one. You can also paint inside the picture frame moulding a different color.

Thanks. Liked the TOH video, except all that layout! Plan on cutting some guide blocks for insets of the molding.

Liked the idea of a different color inside the trim. Our hall, where most of the doors are has a two tone paint job above and below a chair rail!, good chance to use a different color.
