A little more info. would be helpful.  Like match what?  Photos are always good, too.

John,

I'm making a display case using cherry and using gel cherry stain. Fortunately I found a little beech molding I have and although it came out a little darker than the cherry wood it should be acceptable. I think. The customer gets the last word on this, of course.

The cherry will continue to darken in the future and the beech pretty much won't.
