Post: Re: SketchUp 2016

Post: Re: Gustav Stickley birdhouse (and much more)

"The Craftsman" is available online in it's entirety thanks to the University of Wisconsin. If you dig a little deeper in that archive, there are tons of other cool resources. [br][br]Here is a link ...

Post: Re: Toothpicks??

Coloring the surface is easy, getting the dye all the way through is the challenge. You will either need to soak the toothpicks long enough to completely saturate the wood, or find a way to force it t...

The 3D Warehouse has been updated, so older links generate that error message. All of the models still exist and can be found from the 3D Warehouse home page 3D Warehouse (https://3dwarehouse.sketchup...

There is also a chapter in my book "New Woodworker's Guide to SketchUp" detailing the process of importing photos to SketchUp, scaling them to actual size and developing a model from a photo. Same pro...

Post: Re: Stickley chest of drawers plan

I don't think anyone is picking on the OP. If I came off that way it was unintentional. I will be a bit picky (something I have a lot of training and experience in); I wouldn't say that the two pieces...

I just want to clarify that the pieces in my books, and the plans that I sell are for historical period pieces. The two cases mentioned above, while very nice are modern adaptations from the current L...

Post: Re: Sketchup on a Mac

I'll pile on with the recommendation that you get a two-button scroll wheel mouse if you want to become efficient in using SketchUp. It's possible to use the Mac mice, but everything will take longer...

When magazines publish stuff like this, it's a sign that they have run out of good material. Editors love to pretend they are scientists now and then, and most don't know what they are talking about, ...
