our house has one gfci breaker covering the outdoor outlets. The bathrooms have a gfci outlet. I looked at afci breakers, but found all sorts of bad things about them and the outlets don't have such a bad reputation. So I went that way. Lowes can't keep the dual afci/gfci outlets in stock, so it seems like that's the way builders in this area are going. I can't imagine there are too many homeowners other than myself that are putting in protection devices. A circuit that costs $20 for an outlet costs $100 to put in a breaker.
