Garage door beeping
#8
Craftsman model 139.54918 The battery I'm certain is gone and "No Longer Available". I really don't care about getting another battery but shut want to shut the darn beeping up.

The opener is about 10 years old. Anyway to bypass the battery?

It's a battery backup. After a quick Google search looks like plenty of replacement batteries out there for $15-25. That's what I'd do for another 10 years if you can't silence the beep.

Joe, thanks. don't know why I didn't do a more thorough research than just Parts Direct.

"That's what I'd do for another 10 years" We'll be selling this place next year any way. This shoud caring it through.

Craftsman openers are Liftmaster openers.

Genie backup batteries are just plugged in. If it’s the same, I’d try unplugging the battery.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

FWIW I did disconnect the battery but the beeping continued. My new battery is coming today. I bought it on Amazon for $20, Batterys Plus want $100
