There are three problems with this item. First, no photos. Second, Bridge City Tools no longer manufactures these items so if anything should go wrong there are no replacements. Third, it is impossible to determine the original prices for these items in order to determine whether or not the price of $3000 is reasonable or not.

I respectfully beg to differ.  The price is fair if you want to do the research and know where to look.  I would much rather buy a collection like this than one profile at a time.  Granted it does limit the number of buyers that want to spend that much on this kind of item all at once.  The idea that the discontinued items are obsolete is a risk with almost any tool.  There are not many things to go wrong with them.  I would be more concerned with a machine than a hand tool from Bridge City.  He is looking for one buyer not a bunch of them.  Good luck with your sale. You are correct that photos should be included.

I have no issue with the OP selling these tools as a lot. I doubt many of these were sold, so doing so makes sense. After all, finding buyers for an item that sold in the hundreds is much harder than finding buyers for an item (such as a Stanley 45) that sold in the hundreds of thousands or even millions. My point is that the seller will more easily make a sale if he provides information regarding the relative value of the items he's selling. Yes, potential buyers could spend a few hours figuring out the original prices of the 32 individual items he has for sale here, but I truly think he is restricting this pool of buyers by forcing them to do so.

David, just saying that I have had several old tools still in original packaging with original prices clearly marked. Those original prices meant about zero as to what I paid for them or what I would sell them for.  I think value is more related to what I need it for or if collecting, how hard it is to find. Maybe Im missing your point about that?

If I had that plane for sale I would do it exactly like this ad. That is a system and I would only want to sell the package. Also that $3K is going to be a very personal sale and I doubt 'd post pictures either for tire kickers. If yo want this plane you know and will probably be inspecting it in person. Just my opinion no one asked for

Best of luck to the OP. Sounds awesome.
