Thats a nice looking sander, even in green. Congrats on the find. Looks like there is a lot of potential for finding quest machines in that guys shop.

I had a 12 I restored and found myself using my 6" 99% of the time. So I traded it for a Delta 8" and sold the 6". I find I am MUCH happier with it. The 12" just took up space and only once did I need that 12" width.
