Says it has a 1 year warrantee. Only thing I knew that Scheppach made was some sort of tool sharpener.

Yep, went up in smoke after a couple hours of use.

Nope, it wasn't mine. I saw the same posting as CARYinWA. The guy said it went up in smoke.

Personally I'd never buy a track saw in that price range because I just can't imagine getting quality at that price in a track saw.

I think they sell their products under other (store) brands. If I'm not mistaking, this saw is also sold as a Grizzly.

But, for those that are looking for cheap tools, Harbor Freight seems to get all the attention.

Very few places carry any of the steppach tools here in the US. they are a eurpoean company that is barely in the US market. They are a german manufacturer but some of their tools are produced in other countries.

The first tool I remember seeing of theirs here was the sharpening tool like the tormek.

I would have guessed they are a Chinese tool manufacturer trying to sound like a German tool manufacturer.

There was a limit of 3 per person and for the next 50 customers buy 3 and we will throw in a 4th free...just pay shipping and handling. Well they are sold out....darn.

Yeah... Funny cause Bosch is an automotive company and they bought vermont american which made and owned the bosch powertools. So now the name is all under one roof.

Yes, the Grizzly wet grinder (Tomek look alike) has a Sheppach motor, perhaps the whole thing is Sheppach.
I went through 3 motors until I got one with a straight shaft, FWIW.

Interesting that the same saw and track is being sold on the local craigs list for $225. I guess anything to make a buck. THey even through a 'festool' into the ad to make it more attractive.

OK, Timbecktu.....

I am a bona fied Scheppach user with the quazi-professional low down. I use the Scheppach Tiger 2000...Grrrrr.

It's a very budget minded tool that has a Grizzly twin. Good value, although medium duty.

It came with a medium grit wheel and a leather honing wheel. I jettisoned the grit wheel and added a countoured leather disk wheel ( from Buster), so it is now a fine honing station, and works well for chisels, plane blades and carving tools

I may use the blue grit wheel in the future , but, it needs a well made adjustable tool stand, and I haven't made one.
