My gal is a garage sale junkie, especially with a 2nd grandchild on the way.
Last weekend she hit a sale that was all baby stuff, well, almost all baby stuff, there was 1 exception.
As soon as I saw it
The cost....$3.00

total score.
Now you have to keep it around as it is a perfect size for those young hands of the forthcoming grandchildren.
I'll be waiting a bit, then I will likley be selling my No 2, which I might add I paid considerably more than $3 for.

Such things happen, very rarely, but they do happen. Good for you! I suggest you send out your bride and have her buy a lottery ticket, or two.

Currently, depending on condition, I've seen these go anywhere from $80 - $300. The $300 was like new with the box. The box had some rough corners, but was intact.
This one would likely go between $120-$150, possibly a bit more if it got plenty of attention.

jealous. I hate garage sale-ing, but I might just have to start looking. I've got 4 kids toolboxes to fill.

This from the woman who found a 4 1/2 type 17 at a rummage sale for $2.50.

Thanks all, hopefully I'll find time in the near future to get it cleaned up and useable. The 6yo grandaughter isn't quite strong enough to use my No 3 yet.

Another slooooooow moving project. I made the bench from Honey Locust, couldn't find the time to finish assemble it. Any flat surface in the shop always gets filled with "stuff". To protect it, I put an old piece of drafting board cover on it, mistake! After a few months the bench warped bad enough my Benchcrafted wagon vise wouldn't travel smoothly. Now it's just sitting there, waiting to be reflattened. I'll have to set my router jig up again and go at it, the Locust is so damn hard and tearout prone its almost impossible to use a hand plane on.

That is one of the finest #2s I've ever seen. It looks to be almost unused. A quick clean and wax and it would look near new, but with that really nice warm patina. Nice score!...and here it comes...YOU SUCK. -w
