Bump it again, Sam!

...Naval Aviators, that had balz made of brass and the size of bowling balls, getting shot off the deck at night, in heavy seas, hoping that when they leave the deck that the ship is pointed towards the sky and not the water.

Thoroughly enjoyed looking at (admiring) the cabinets ... Forget tools! I need those for my kitchen.

Im probably not the only one who admires these cabinets not just for their ingenious designs and storage solutions but also so I can oogle tools and put them on my "one day" list.

I didn't even have hand tools when this thread was started

Mine began life forty or so years ago as a kitchen cabinet:

With some "selective demolition" and some cheap sheet goods from the ReStore it has new life:

Chisels (with a few exceptions), bevel gauge, dividers, squares, and other flat tools live in the three trays at the bottom.

I'd be embarrased to post a pic of mine. But got plenty of good ideas for when I build a new one.

Here's mine. Hope it helps keep the thread alive.

English Walnut and Spalted Tiger maple (in the case sides). The two tiger maple totes at the bottom of the upper cabinet are for taking tools to the bench or on the road. The larger has everything a woodworker needs to cut dovetails inside. The smaller has four trays of carving tools to help keep them sharp and organized.
