Ian my friend, that's an excellent cabinet. Awesome collection of tools also.

Your own milling machine? Wow.

I'd really like to see how those planes progress.

Rick

The whole plane rack on gas struts concept is OVER THE TOP! (Pun intended. )

VERY nice!

Wow, there are some talented people in this world...some inspiring work.

Tom's comments about "point of use" is how I set up my work bench with my primary "tool cabinet" built below the bench top. A cabinet doesn't necessarily have to attach to the wall. I like having my chisels, hammers, smaller planes, layout tools, etc. right at the bench as, overall, they are what I reach for most frequently.

I keep my bigger or less frequently used stuff in my Norm inspired (ducking) cabinets.

Great looking shop Sanford!

Those of us who are forced to work in dungeons are jealous.

Nice bench, how do you like that type of tail vise?

Rick

Thanks, Rick. I like the tail vise okay but if I were building the bench again I would build for more mass. This is the Woodsmith bench from some years ago.

I've had the luxury of setting up two shops this being my second. Believe me, I know all about dungeon shops!

I totally dig that shop! I love all the natural light! What a wonderfully pleasant place to spend your time.

Nice cabinets! [Re: MikeJ]

You guys have posted some nice cabinets on this thread.

Mine is rather simple -- I just wanted to get my planes and hand tools off the wooden shelves. I built my saw till this weekend as my saw collection has begun to grow. I imagine someday I will build a true tool cabinet for my shop.
