Spent most the morning cutting the pieces for a flag case. I was Norming it and cutting the whole thing out of one board with as little waste as possible. Anyway, after I had completed the final 22 1/2 degree miter cut and was ready to glue it together, one of the pieces slipped off the table saw and landed on the floor breaking apart the fragile edge of one of the miters to the point where it would be unrepairable (read, noticeable no matter how it was repaired)

So now I have to start all over, jointing, planing and milling another three pieces. I was so mad I finished another little project I was working on so I can come back to that one.
What do you guys do; finish your mistake or work on something else for a while until you're no longer mad at yourself?

I leave the shop and go for a motorcycle ride or play a video game. Something to take my mind off of it until my temper cools.
Alos, spending time with my wife, whom I've been neglecting to be in the shop in the first place is not a bad idea.

In my younger years I would throw things...then I realized that all I was doing was creating more work for myself as I had to go get it or fix what it hit.

Look at the piece, grumble, swear, and head inside to take my mind off the FUBAR. Then I figure out whether I have the wood to start over.
Sorry it happened.

I usually fix or redo it at that time, cuz I need to get it done.

I will normally burn the shop down, file a claim with my HO insurance and start over.

Can you come mill some mahogany for me then? It has to be the exact thickness of my other stuff and since you'll be working out of my sharage, you will have to move the dust collection hose around a bit along with the 220v receptacle.

I usually just look at the piece for a minute and then turn off the lights so I can go inside and let my parrot bite me. At least that pain doesn't last more than a couple of minutes.
