Liogier rasp, pass-around test new
      #5899780 - 04/24/12 04:24 PM

For my first message, by way of introduction, here is a short video showing what I do :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pzK2Ei19t4

After reading many messages on this Forum of members who never owned one of my rasps wondering how good are these tools, I thought the best answer would be to give to the members of this Forum the opportunity to test one for free.

So I could send a free rasp (let say a very common one, a cabinet maker rasp) to a member who would volunteer to test it. His obligations would be to test it, to give his opinion / review in the forum and to ship it to the next tester.

Anybody interested ?

Noel Liogier

PS :
- Sorry for my english, I guess it is far from perfect, but hopefully good enough to be understood.
- The tester should not keep the rasp too long so the thread keeps rolling, he should live in USA to avoid too expensive shipping costs for the previous tester, and I would add he should be an active member of the Forum for some time to avoid risk of someone forgetting to ship the rasp to the next tester.
- Of course, I have asked for approval from the moderators, and received a positive answer, before posting this suggestion. Thank you to them.
- August Home (the owners of WoodNet) and Woodnet itself are not affiliated with this offer.

I nominate Derek Cohen to take a look at it. Even though he's in Australia, I think we could all benefit from his expertise.

Additionally, his reviews are always top notch.

Regards,
Sam

Welcome to WoodNet Noel. A very generous offer, I look forward to hearing more about your tools. Glad to see you make left handed tools as well.

Regards,
John.

He not only makes left handed rasps, he also makes two sided rasps with two different grains at no additional charge. He is the only one that I am aware of that makes left handed rat tail rasps as well.

You are right, I didn't thought about that. I wouldn't let lefties test a rasp for right-handed person, so let's split the list in two : one rasp of right-handed woodworkers, another one for left-handed.

By the way, if anyone have any question about rasps, even the simpliest ones, please feel free to ask, I'll be glad to answer as best as I can.

Derek has reviewed the Liogier rasps. I believe he recently posted a link to an Australian forum where he had written a review of the saw maker rasps. He was quite positive about them as I recall.
