In several threads on tools, Milwaukee seems to get standing ovations from many of us as far as tool quality. Heck, I even remember posting how cool their utility knife was.
I know they got bought up by OWT a few years ago. Just curious if anyone had seen any down-grading of quality in their tools since being bought out----( I suppose its kind of hard to say how long their old inventory would last before newly mfged ones got in the pipe line.
I certainly hope they haven't changed. While it's always a risk to put too much faith in any one mfg-----it's more that it's also good to have at least a couple brands to check out.

An acquaintance just upgraded from a Jet to a Milwaukee CSMS and he is really happy so far. I know quite a few folks who have bought from them in the last two years; they have been happy with the tools and with CS.

I bought 2 CMS's a couple of years ago and 1 is great, the other is gonna need service soon. I have several of their 12V cordless tools and they are awesome.

I bought a 5615 router kit summer of 2010....really nice, just like the one I bought in 2006.

I bought the 18v drill/driver - impact wrench kit about 9 months ago. Works great - a significant up-grade from my 14.4v Makita.

I purchased a 12v drill/driver (reconditioned) recently and the quality is great. Very powerful and with the Li-ion batteries much superior to the Dewalt I replaced.

I haven"t seen any change in quality. Their batteries are better now. Their Nicads were always junk though. I need 3 18V ones for my impact driver which I love for heavy use.
The routers saws and corded stuff doesn't to seem to have changed.

Bought the Milwaukee 12" SCMS a couple of years ago and couldn't be happier with it and its performance! My only Milwaukee tool.

Thanks all for posting! Sounds like OWT hasn't messed with Milwaukee's quality at all!!! They are certainly going to be on my short list for future tool needs.
Robert---I agree their old ni-cads (i have the 18v) are junk---- I bought the 18v set many years ago and the problem is the darned tools are fantastic, so it's hard justifying getting a new set----just keep replacing batteries as the die----so far 2 of the original 5 died.
