I called HF and they do not have a larger nozzle nor does their web-site.
I had the same experience. The casting on the 66222 is identical to many other guns on the market. I wouldn't be surprised if the cap and needle from another gun would work. Apparently, that is the case with the Porter Cable.
Also, the 2 Piece Professional Automotive HVLP Spray Gun Kit for $50 #94572 comes with a 1.4 and 1.8 tips.

The 43430 is one of the good guns.
If you have a woodcraft nearby, go check if their woodriver cap and needle will fit. It probably will.

I have a 2.0 woodcraft needle/nozzle set I'd let go cheaply. Let me know if you're interested.

Most of the time I'm looking to do a spray finish like waterbased poly.
So does the same thing apply to using poly and get a larger nozzle and thin it out?
Thanks
Nope. waterborne poly shoots fine with the 1.4mm nozzle. No need to thin. I have shot general fininishes water poly with good results without thinning and using the 1.4mm needle/cap.
I have also shot oil based poly with the 1.4mm and also got good results.
