Hey folks,
I've got a few cordless drills w/ all the batteries and I'm looking for ideas on how / where to store them. I'm pretty sure I don't want them in a drawer because they are my main use tool, but I haven't really decided.
Maybe drawer storage or shelf storage or ????
Let's see what you have and hopefully I can get some ideas ....
Thanks ...

I included drill storage with my drill press cabinet. The spare batteries are kept in the chargers...

Big Dave has a nice setup. The only thing I would add, is a timer to prevent overcharging. I use a 1 hour spring would timer (about $15 form box store)

Great idea for NiCads, but most modern Li-Ion systems will actively monitor the battery, so you can leave it on a powered charger with no concerns. Just as a note.
Love the angled slots Dave, that's genius.

Actually, if you leave the battery plugged into the charger while the charger isn't plugged in, that can ruin your battery, drain it, and shorten the overall longevity of the battery. At least that is what I have found. Do you find that it seems like your battery doesnt last very long between chargings when you do this.

Only Nicads. You shouldn't leave them on charger. The lithiums are ok, no memory.

It depends on the charger; Makita's li-ion chargers have been known to kill batteries if left on the charger too long. In general I don't keep the batteries on the charger once charged. Prevention is the best remedy.

I don't leave batteries in the charger after charging, just in case it hurts them. Being dc current, it's hard to believe the mfg. couldn't just put a diode in the charge line and prevent discharge, like with a solar panel, to prevent discharge at nite.
