Maybe I didn't read far enough into your blog to find out, but how do you go about shaping the arms and legs (particularly where there are transition blocks) into the final shape once the chair has already been assembled?
I do a lot more hand work than Hal does. He uses a variety of sanding drums on a drill. I use more handwork with rasps which lets me control what is going on - yes slower but more control. There will be some demos on this when the Liogier makes its way to my coast.
