I've always used Bessey parallel clamps. The other day while in HD I picked up a pair of Jorgensen to give them a try.
when I got home I pull the heads off so I could pur some wax on the bars to prevent glue sticking to them. After pulling them apart I noticed the nylon gizmo's laying on the table. I didn't notice where they came from. Where do they go?
The nylon thingys are just about the pencil in the photo.

they go beween just ahead of the black bar that has the screw and handle in use they seem out of place as they are just there but if you ever let the clamp slam together with out them you will know why they are there as you cuss the fact the clamp is practically imposible to open
place the clamp orange head part on the bar then the nylon piece then further slide the bar throught the actual clamp mecanisim your good to go
edit add that they go beween the rivets and the black bar not the clamp face and rivets they will fit either place

Being as you have used the Besseys, and now bought the Jorgys, how about letting us know how you think they compare? I've never used the Besseys, but have the Jorgys and like them. Also wondering if the Besseys are as heavy as the Jorgys. Thanks

Thought this may be of interest to everyone in this thread.

I have some jets, besseys, and jorgies, and while i like them all in their own ways I think I like the jets best as well.

I've had Bessys for years and recently picked up 4 Jets on an Amazon special. While they seem a little heavier, I don't like the action and handles as well as the Bessys, especially the newer ones with the spiral grip-tight material on the larger diameter handles.
Never owned a Jorgy.

The Jorgys are heavier than my bessey clamps. The jaws are deeper also. I don't know if that's a plus or not at this time.
The main reason I though I'd try the Jorgys is because of the smooth bar. Should be easier to clean the the bessey clamps with all the little groves.

Scott and the adjustable clamp co make owning the Jorgies the best for me. I own 50% Jorgys and the other 50% are 3 series of K bodies/Revos and Jets. I like the trigger on the Jet. When I dont want the trigger the Jorgies are what I reach for. Glue ups anymore are done on the JLT so the parallels are for assembly anymore.
