I just got a notice from FWW in their regular emails that Norm is retiring after 21 seasons. I sure loved that show.
I wonder if they will put a collection together of his favorite projects?

It's the end of an era, Norm was great for WW.
Hopefully WW gets a TV replacement soon - I'm hoping David Marks comes back to TV.

I met Norm a couple times. He is a genuine nice guy that he seemed to be on TV. I remember when he first started on Bob VILA TOH. He has no beard and a terrible mustache. The show had gotten stale the last couple years but I still watched and enjoyed. He will be missed.

Over a long dry spell with little woodworking, Norm helped keep me interested. When I got serious he taught me many good ways to accomplish sound work. He's a major asset to practical woodworking.

Inspired a lot of us to wear plaid! SWMBO has recently broke me of the plaid flannel habit.
He was great for our hobby and although I no longer adhere to his methods (I have gone mainly handtools) I still enjoyed watching his shows.

LIL,
I hope that the appreciation so many woodworkers have for Norm and the contibutions he's made over the years to the craft, are somehow communicated to him. He's contributed a lot to people's enjoyment of this hobby.

P.S. There are several other threads ongoing about this topic.

I wonder how much of this is Norm wanting to stop versus sponsors dropping out because of the economy and needing to cut back?
Cant imagine it was a cheap show to produce.
I hope it goes into syndication now. I would love to watch another 20 years of projects over again.
