There was a guy from Vermont years ago that took a bunch of woodnetter's money. He went bankrupt and he owed a lot of money to folks. He got what was coming to him in the end thanks to low friends in high places.
Disclaimer: I am a satisfied MM customer. Also, I have sold lumber to folks in the past and I feel for Mike and what he is trying to do. Woodworkers are some of the tightest, stingiest, picky customers on the face of the earth. Hence the reason I no longer sell lumber.
I have been out of the business for ~4 years and last Fall in a moment of weakness my brother and I did the deal of the century. We sold off over 100,000 bd ft of lumber we bought from an estate. The sale price was less than $1.50/bd ft for cherry, maple, walnut and beach. Clear stock that was beautiful. We still had people that were not happy! That was my reminder that selling to folks is darn hard work and a tough business to be in.
