Wow, this thing has taken the forum by storm, very impressive for such a simple thing.

Now, what would be the proper nails to use to nail the sides to the end pieces?
And to attach the bottom pieces? I am thinking #6 x 3/4 slotted screws for the bottom.
I have some cut nails and cut headless brads, but not sure if they would be appropriate for this.
I'mma gonna guess and suggest box nails, seems reasonable, but I don't know how long box nails have been around so that may be inappropriate. I can say gramps would have used box nails, but then again, he loved box nails. Also, box nails aren't the prettiest things.
Edit: Wire nails came about around the turn of the century, so box nails would be accurate assuming the original has nails to hold the sides on. That said, something with a round head might look really nice. *shrug*
-------------------- Sometimes I look next door and think "What happened to the steam power tools over there?" Then thank my lucky stars that I have as many of great-great-gramp's tools as I do.
