Havent used the ShopFox but a couple friends have them and a couple dumped them. They are Chinese made and depending on the factory maybe pretty good or pretty bad. ShopFox switches suppliers often and doesn't do QC consistently. Their customer service is also very inconsistent.

As for Grizzly their upper end tools are competitive with the best e.g. Laguna and priced accordingly. Their cheaper lines are basically competitive with Jet, Rikon and Steel City. The lower priced tools are also a little inconsistent but not as bad as ShopFox.

Another post where JR1 shows his WW ignorance. Grizzly and Shop Fox are under the same leadership and often the two brands overlap machines. These machines more often than not come from the same overseas manufacturer with slight modifications if any. Grizzly is direct online/catalog market and Shop Fox is the retail avenue for distribution. Warranties are 1 vs. 2 years respectfully.

Back to the OP, like has been suggested I would purchase an edge sander over a disc.
