So, I don't log in here as often as i used to.
I logged in for the first time in a while and i see a couple of PMs asking me for finished pics of the table.
About a year ago, I left Virginia and moved to Colorado. Since then i just don't check in on woodnet very often. I am very active at Woodworking, just not on the internet so much.
Here are the pics of the table from about 18 months ago when it was finished.
I have some new ones, but i need to get my hosting straight before i post them. The finish has aged beautifully. The table survived the 100% swing in humidity from VA to CO flawlessly. No warping at all. It did shrink quite a bit but it was able to be adjusted at the battens to compensate. I guess i DID build it right and i wasn't just being clever after all...
So far the cat has scratched it a little bit, my daughter scratched it a little bit, my wife scratched a chair, and the movers broke a leg. When my wife asked what i was going to do about the few scratches it has gotten i replied "Nothing! nothing at all! Let Nathalie's kids figure out how to refinish it." (Nathalie is 3 years old). Yes I think it will last that long.
I am REALLY proud of this piece, and i am honored you guys want to see more of it a couple of years after i started this thread.
These are from Norfolk VA in 2011 in no particular order:
