Re: Who are you - Bob N - 01-30-2009

Since Mr. Yak keeps bumping this thread, I guess I had better answer the call

Name is Bob 59 years young and I have been turning off and on for a little over 3 years. Mainly have been into pens and hoping now with the purchase of the Jet 1220VS, I can broaden my horizions a little.

Re: Who are you - Phil from NC - 02-01-2009

My name is Phil Land. I am a 47 year old and married. I have a 26 year old daughter who is married and 2 1/2 years ago gave me my first granddaughter. Then 3 1/2 years ago my present wife and I adopted our son, Matt (he was less than two when he was helping me sand that pen on the lathe in the picture that is my avatar) he loves the "chop" and the saw dust in the shop. I have been turning since I got my HF like lathe 4 1/2 years ago (edit: that lathe lasted about 6 months then I got my Jet 1236)

Re: Who are you - cowchaser - 02-01-2009

Dustin, I have been turning about 1 1/2 years. I have only turned pens and 1 bowl. 34 years old.

Name Dust is what my parents and the rest of my family have always called me.

I'm one of the new guys. My name is David and I haven't really done any turning yet. I'm getting together a set of tools to give it a try. It has always intrigued me so I'm sure I keep doing it even if it doesn't become my obsession. One thing that interests me about it is it is not all that loud of a thing to do. I do woodworking stuff outside and often late at night so I have to be cautious about what I do.
