Rocking chair seat frame - JimReed@Tallahassee - 05-31-2016

I spent my cool hour in the shop in a hustle and was covered in sweat. At least I made some progress. Last night I glued up the seat frame.


Then I attached it using some SS deck screws. No future rust there.


Here is where we are so far.


The back mock up:

These cedar slats are just for strength. I intend to find a matching all weather seat and back pad to make the chair comfortable. With a little luck I hope to be in paint by the weekend. Then it is time for chair #2 to complete the set. I hope it is in better shape.

Looking good Jim, nice job. Are you going to use Mill Paint or an oil based paint?

Rustoleum indoor/outdoor satin enamel from rattle can. Same color.

Good to know Jim thanks, we have an old wooden chair that is in great shape but needs to be refinished as it sits out on our front porch. My Wife asked me last year before I got sick if I could redo the finish.

I am roughing this one up with sandpaper and then shoot. Hope it comes out OK.
