Mortise jig clamp question - ®smpr_fi_mac® - 06-30-2016 I want to build the following jig to put mortises in a set of table legs, but the legs are 2.75" square, and the 3" clamps used won't work, at least according to one of the comments below the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKZJyBuqYIs So I'm trying to find a 4 inch, or even better, a 5 inch version of this: https://www.amazon.com/Jorgensen-Hold-Do...ords=1623+clamp Any advice? Re: Mortise jig clamp question - Steve N - 06-30-2016 Punch a larger diameter hole, and Bobs yer Uncle Re: Mortise jig clamp question - JGrout - 06-30-2016 just mill two wooden standoffs (extenders) to push the clamps back to open the area.... Easy peasy Re: Mortise jig clamp question - Phil Thien - 06-30-2016 JGrout said: Yep, I have some of those clamps and for this application, they're really ideal. Shim them out. Re: Mortise jig clamp question - ®smpr_fi_mac® - 06-30-2016 So simple I couldn't see it. Thanks. |
