Dewalt 12-1/2" planer - Tynyyn - 03-16-2017
Does anybody know the torque value for the ten bolts used to secure the knives to the revolving platen? I swear the when I tighten my bolts they will never bottom out. the bolts must stretch and become so long that they will not hit bottom or if they do hit bottom they become longer the more I torque them down. Just frustrating to feel that I can never get a good tight turn on the bolts.

I used the supplied T handle wrench and monkeyed them down and figured I was good.

Again The supplied wrench is correct for the torque of those screws /bolts
I expect you are incapable of stretching the bolts using the supplied wrench

On the straight knives I can't recall ever seeing a listed pressure for tightening. When using them I just went hand tight with the supplied wrench. Now if you convert to a Byrd head on one, they call for 45 INCH pounds of pressure on each insert. Requires an In/# wrench, bike shops are a good spot for them.
