Disston panel saw question - overland - 04-10-2017 I bought an older Disston panel saw yesterday. It's got a skew back and is 26" long, 22" at the tooth line. It's filed 5tpi rip. But it has no etching on the saw plate that I can find. (There was some light rust that I sanded off with 400 sandpaper.) Is that unusual? All my other Disston hand saws have etchings. RE: Disston panel saw question - Strokes77 - 04-10-2017 It's possible for them to be so faint that you can't see them anymore. It happens quite a bit. It's also possible, but less likely IMO, that someone just replaced the Medallion. RE: Disston panel saw question - Joe Bailey - 04-10-2017 Pictures would make a lot of sense, given your inquiry. |
