Looking for a solid piece of old iron? Here is an open Craftsman surface planer. I think it would clean up nice.

Those are colloquially know as "Alien Head" planers since the head sorta looks like one of the aliens in the movies. They are kinda collectible to the right folks, but I'm not sure how useful they really are since they are only 6" wide and depend on the user to push the wood through, much like a jointer.
