Unless you are on smooth ground, I would suggest replacing the skids on the MTD (Toro, Troy Built, etc) snowblower. Where I am at, the ground heaves the sidewalk, so even the sidewalk is uneven and the snowblower scraper catches, causing the snowblower to come to a sudden stop. The upper skid looks like an OEM skid. The lower skid is what I use, and comes from here http://snowblowerskids.com/.
