Outfeed Table - Tapper - 12-15-2017
I have a Sawstop PCS and would like to make an outfeed table for it. Want something fairly simple that attaches to the back of the saw and swings down on a hinge (maybe a piano hinge?) out of the way when the saw is not in use. I'm thinking a couple of fold-up legs that have adjustment screws as levelers.
Would be interested in seeing photos from those who have built one, and/or your suggestions.

Doug, I looked, but didn't post because I just use roller supports, I don't need outfeed support very much, and the take up very little room when folded.

I think there was an outfeed table thread not that long ago. I like the folding idea or a workbench the same height as the saw design that FWW published a couple of years ago.
This is one of those things I want to do, but my shop is so crowded that there is no room for it. Working on that problem, but progress is slow.

Found the plan for this one at the Rockler site. It's a start on the design. I like the size of the top but not necessarily the mounting method. I would also rather have two legs that swing down and rest on the floor when in use and swing back up and lock in place when not in use.
Also found these brackets at our friend, Rob Lee's place, that might work for the legs. Comments welcome.
Barry, I've used roller stands for years now also. They work OK but I find them to be a pain to set up, adjust, align, etc. Would rather have a more permanent solution but one that is not something like a standalone table taking up space behind the saw.

I just built one for my Saw Stop but it does not fold down.

I, too, have a PCS. My outfeed support is a 48" square work table set to the height of the saw.
Back when I had the saw in a two car garage, I considered making a foldable outfeed support for it. The Woodsmith Shop TV did one that I thought could be easily adapted. It's still available on their website for free download. If you don't want to sign up for their free newsletter, then let me know and I'll fire the pdf plan your way.

I have a work table set 1/8" below my TS with a 3' gap between that I span with a piece of plywood when I need to rip long stuff. A fold up/down table just wouldn't be long enough for 8' long pieces, unless maybe it was hinged so it would be twice as long when completely unfolded. I suppose a simple fold up/down table would work well for long stock if it then fed onto a work table, or even roller stands.
