Salt N Pepper - Woodshop - 12-20-2017 Some more Christmas presents , about 11" tall Walnut and Apricot. the Apricot was dead standing for 4 years . about 12" across and 24" tall until it forked , extremely heavy. . I got 4, 4" square blocks about 24" long out of the stump. Apricot turns great RE: Salt N Pepper - FrankAtl - 12-20-2017 Nice! RE: Salt N Pepper - Souperchicken - 12-21-2017 Beautiful, I need to make a set some day. RE: Salt N Pepper - Dusty Workshop - 12-21-2017 Very nice! Did you use a pattern to match the form, or did you just eyeball it? RE: Salt N Pepper - chips ahoy - 12-21-2017 Those are beautiful, well done sir. RE: Salt N Pepper - crokett™ - 12-21-2017 I really like that apricot. My parents have a pear stump that I've been meaning to go get. My mom has told me more than once she wants it cut off. I don't know if it's still any good though. RE: Salt N Pepper - Herb G - 12-21-2017 Beautiful set. FWIW, most fruit wood turns easily but not all of it is interesting. Peach, apple, and cherry all turn easily, but a lot of it has blah grain to it. RE: Salt N Pepper - badwhiskey - 12-21-2017 Those are great. The apricot is especially nice. |
