Smart Home systems - RJT123 - 07-04-2018

I have had a "flood" of friends and co-workers having flooded basements recently. Which got me thinking about a smart home system. I am an Electronic tech with programming experience.
I would like a system with 3 sensors. Two in basement and one near washing machine on first floor. I would like the system to turn off a 120V 15A outlet, dedicated to my wells jet pump.
Do any of y'all have a preferred manufacturer or communication standard? I don't need to be texted or control from my phone. Just looking for a starting place, don't want to reinvent the wheel.
Thanx.
