Coloring question - scpapa - 08-07-2018

I see bowls and other turnings with a colored metallic highlighting. I assume it is some kind of gilding paste, but what kind? I see gilding wax at Michael's craft store, but I would think you wouldn't be able to finish over wax.
What should I be looking for?
Thanks,
Rick

I imagine there are a few ways. Personally, I purchased powdered metal. I put it in a groove that I carved or cut and it is set with superglue. (thin).
