Anyone ever have any problems with brushing a water based finish over timbermate water based wood grain filler?

I've never done that but can imagine it could lead to problems as Timbermate is soluble in water. I'd make a sample board to see if it really does cause a problem. If it does, I'd either spray the WB topcoat, or apply a coat of dewaxed shellac first.

I have used Timbermate and have sprayed waterbase topcoats over it with no ill effects. Can't attest to oil based finishes.
