It was a couple years ago, at least, that Adjustable Clamp Company abruptly ceased all operations in Chicago. Not too long, actually, after buying Easy Wood Tools, which seemed to catch everyone by surprise. I was particularly disappointed that we had not only lost another American manufacturer, but that our own ClampMan may have been out of a job. So imagine my surprise at seeing an ad in the current WOOD Magazine on page 5 for Pony & Jorgensen clamps. When did this happen? Was there a news release I missed? Worse yet, was there a post here on WoodNet that I missed?
I went to their website and it appears legit, although they are only selling clamps, and I couldn't tell if they were being made here or abroad. But I suspect everything is overseas now...
Am I the last one to know about this?

Seems I read a couple? years ago some china co. bought their operation out and was going to produce the same line of clamps. I've got enough of their clamps so I haven't followed it whether they have or not.

Their physical address matches the one used by Arrow Fastener, where I found this:

The clamps are LOUSY. Terrible compared to originals. Bora has the same ones at menards. I hate the junk jaws they have and they cost like revos.
Home Depot has $35 revo 24" and $40 revo 50". These are the essiest decent parallel clamp you can source and actually get jaws that are 90 degree to the bar.

It is now a Chinese-owned company, just like Bridge City Tools.
The site seems to suggest that some products are assembled in Chicago with imported parts.

Thanks, guys! I wasn't aware that they'd been bought by a Chinese company. I was really holding out hope they'd fix whatever happened that caused them to shutdown and re-open the facilities in Chicago.
The optimist in me lost out again...

Wow.....your not the only one....I never knew they closed the doors. I was wondering what happened because they just disappeared at menards with no word (least that I saw)

Yeah, Pony went out about two years ago.
They had been on a buying spree including Easy Wood Tools. That debt did not help.
They had tried to buy MicroJig too, but no one there wanted to sell.
Bridge City Tools is now owned by a Chinese company under the Harvey label.
You just about need a scorecard to keep up these days with who owns what.

One of my CabinetMasters failed several years ago. My loss for not submiting a claim before they changed ownership. Does Jorgensen even make CabinetMasters anymore?
