Dust extractor hose - lincmercguy - 11-04-2018 Would it be effective to connect a dust extractor hose to a dust collector for use with a random orbit sander? If so, does anyone know of an adapter? Web searches are all ads. I've tried a 2.5" dust collector hose, but it is very cumbersome and tends to fall off. RE: Dust extractor hose - WilliamHodge - 11-04-2018 I bought a Bosch 1 1/2" x 10' hose that has a 2 1/2" connector on the end. I hooked it up to a central vac. The other end is on a Dewalt sander. Sometimes I have needed to get creative with fittings, a hack saw, and hose clamps to hook up different sanders. I like to hang it above my work for something like sanding. I have used the smaller Festool extractor hose with my ETS 150, and managed suction pressure through the blast gate on the open 4" port. It works well enough for the short term. The trick is finding the balance between getting good suction without choking the the airflow and overworking your dust collector. I have found that balance to be closer to open on the unused 4" port.
