security cameras that doesn't require cloud? - mdhills - 10-01-2019

Any recommendations on security cameras that don't require streaming to cloud storage?
(this is for a property that has relatively poor DSL service, with no cable or fiber, so it isn't practical to retrieve, let alone upload, video streams to a cloud server)

It might be nice to be able to get alerts, but to have the video stored on a DVR or similar at home.

Thanks,
Matt

Do some looking on amazon there are hundreds of them there that have a DVR remote access and no fee based service required.

I bought a setup from Amcrest.  You can remotely view the cameras, but it stores everything locally on a DVR/NVR.

No complaints with it so far.

I have a setup made by hikvision with power over Ethernet cameras to make wiring easier, just one wire to run instead of two
