Leg Vise Chop material? - cputnam - 12-17-2019 I'll aim for hard maple but am wondering if curly soft maple would make a decent chop - or would it have stability issues? Certainly would look awesome. My bench TOP is soft maple.. Definitely don't need it any harder than it is. After I started I was sorry I did because it was a bear to stain, etc. Stay with the SM RE: Leg Vise Chop material? - cpolubin - 12-19-2019 I did my chop in curly maple and it's been fine so far, about 4 years.
