ROS-shop vac hose? - ®smpr_fi_mac® - 02-09-2020

I recently discovered how well my shop vac removes dust from my ROS. It's great! But the hose is awkward, stiff, and cumbersome. Do you guys have a suggestion for a different hose?

I've been using this Rockler hose
https://www.rockler.com/dust-right-flexiport-power-tool-hose-kit-3-to-12-expandable

It's very flexible and has adapters to fit my band saw, Festool equiptment and my Ridgid sander when I still had it.

I use the kit package 1-1/2" hose from Mr. Nozzle

I use this one, https://www.centralvacuumstores.com/centec-94048-shop-vac-car-kit-w20ft-hose and it's very flexible. I also like the added length which allows me to leave the shop vac where it sits. I can't remember if this is where I bought mine but if it is it really went up in price, I paid around $39 IIRC.

What Cliff said and I have it also and works very well.  When I got mine it was a lot cheaper tho

I just use a household vacuum cleaner hose, with a 2 1/4 inch adapter for the shop vac.

Whatever your choice, sizing down to a 1.5" hose is going to make life easier.

Any 1.5 inch hose will probably do better, you could also upgrade the vac to one of the euro styles like a festool or in my case a Nilfisk that has a more compliant hose as well as a tool power port so the sander cycles the vac on and off.

I use this Bosch hose for my Festool saw and for my pocket screw jig.  It is quite flexible and not nearly as expensive as the actual Festool hose.  You may need an adapter for your ROS.

I also have the bosch. I believe they make two versions with one being antistatic. I ran solid PVC pipe from a shop vac to a hinged arm that swings out over the workbench. The arm has the bosch hose and also a 110 volt outlet that the sander plugs into
