That's a really nice looking mitre plane!

But, how can anyone afford the metal for those things? That is, one bigger than a block plane or instrument maker's size. ?

I have plenty of brass in stock...It was much cheaper when I bought it years ago. I would still buy some sheet bronze but cant find what I am looking for.

Hmmm...Traditional Chinese Edge Plane....
[attachment=27531]
With shavings...was made in my shop, a few years back
[attachment=27532]
White Oak for the wood parts, H-F lathe chisel (skew)  provided the iron
[attachment=27533]
Iron is at a skew, fence is adjustable up to 1" wide.   Took about...one weekend to make...uses square nuts in the slots/mortises  for the fence bolts to tighten the fence in place.
Plane is pushed, not pulled.
Cool
