Rolling base for contractor’s saw - Gary G™ - 03-14-2021

Looking for ideas for a contractor saw
If you made a rolling base which puts the saw on the ground when the casters are disengaged, please post pics.

Not homemade but this Shop Fox mobile base works very well for me, https://www.amazon.com/Shop-Fox-D2057A-Adjustable-Mobile/dp/B0000DD6B9/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2VSAZJX5O1LWS&dchild=1&keywords=shop+fox+d2057a&qid=1615824209&sprefix=shop+fox+D2057A%2Caps%2C203&sr=8-1

This guy posted a great design on YouTube. He sells plans for $8 but if you watch the video till the end, he's very generous in showing the construction details.

I'll second Ohio Mike's comment about this design. I seen this a couple years ago and used it to make a mobile base for a jointer at a retirement community woodshop where I volunteer.

No plans available at that time but easy enough to construct from his video.

Gary,

I built many rolling bases in my early years. All worked great but after years of use they all had issues. I used wood inserted into rails, tubing etc. I recently retired and downsized our home and I have a garage workshop. I bought a Grizzly G0771Z tablesaw and the T 28000 mobile base. This mobile base for the money is worth every penny. The pedals on each side works flawlessly. It went up in price since I bought it but I think it worth it. It will adjust to the size you need.

Good luck.
