Looking for a router bit - jeffss - 11-23-2023

I cut some pockets in some walnut  1/2" deep. I want to put a roundover on the inside edge. All of my round over bits when mounted on my table are too tall. The bearing and the screw hit the bottom of the pocket. Anyone else deal with this?

These used with a template and guide bushing would work:  Link

I bought one of these and love it. https://www.holbren.com/Whiteside_Machine_1980 Would it do the job?

Very possible. Since the cutter is 3/8" wide I did some percise calculations. I held a piece of paper up to the screen and marked the width. Then I turned the paper and held it up to the top of bushin and farthest cutting edge piont. Seems to be the same. If it is, it will not rub the bottom of my 1/2" pockets.  I'll give it a go. I like the idea of a template but the pockets are all random shapes.

If the bit MG linked to is too long, you could grind off part of the lower guide bushing.

Similar to what museumguy posted, they still make steel round over bits with no bearings, just the guidepoint.

Here's one for a dremel. Small, will get right in that small hole.
