There are far more waterborne finishes used now than oil based. Whether or not legislation drove the change, they work.

The stuff you're likely to buy, from small trees with not much heartwood, will not stand up to ground contact very well. You'll pay a lot of money for something not really fit for purpose. |

Auto glass cleaners do not have ammonia and if you're going to use a glass cleaner this is the one to use. Household glass cleaners ("Windex") have ammonia. You don't want this on tools. |

I paid $1,200 to have a fuse panel replaced with a circuit breaker panel (at the insistence of my insurance company) -- 30 years ago.
