For knots and small  voids, I use any clear 5 minute epoxy from a big box.  I’ve filled countless knots without issue.

I'm looking to make some end tables, that will basically be cabinet boxes with legs and drawers.  Is 1/2" ply sufficient for the boxes or do I need 3/4"?  Also, what is a good source for maple plywood...

I make a lot of sea urchin ornaments. I get mine from eBay. The Sputnik ones are thicker and less fragile than others, but I use several kinds.
