Universal motors, and ac/dc motors can be controlled with a dimmer or rheostat. DC motors with a controller.

Have you checked the wires at the outlet for voltage? And by that I mean taking loose any wire nuts and then checking the wires, not the device. I have seen where connections are lost under a wire nut...

Dastra Top quality german chisels. They were imported to the USA by Frank Mittermier Co. I have a set andthey seem to sharpen easily and keep an edge well.

Leonard Bailey came out with the scraper plane in 1855 that Stanley started production of in 1858. Stanley called them a # 12 slightly later.

Wheaton makes one. Its fairly common and high quality. You could probably find a good one on an auction for not too much money. Its called the stair wizard.
