On my list as well. Way back in the 70s and early 80s we used a Stanley box for trim, but none had the trip clamp. I suppose the old guys thought it added time to our tasks?

Remove the fence and gray Scotch-Brite pad with WD-40. No need to get perfect, but clean it and use the jointer. Keep it well waxed and every so often, work a bit more on the rust.

Rough composition guidelines: Brass - 2/3 copper 1/3 zinc Bronze - 7/8 copper 1/8 tin These are rough and can very widely! If anyone wants to learn more, spend a week at my plant.

Can't recall how much it was, but I don't think it was even $30/person! I'm anxiously waiting for Tom's posts on grinding the 608! Doing a job like that requires skillsets that are few and far bet...
