At work, it is company policy to NEVER reuse a blade that has been involved in a sawstop trigger.

Buying a large expensive piece of equipment that is an offbrand but a good $ deal only to later have the company go out of business and no longer supported with parts.

I think I would use pocket hole screws drilled in from underneath.  They wouldn't be visible and they would allow a bit of wiggle room, especially if you wallow the holes on the outer screws a bit.

If you are cutting that plexiglass on a sawstop , be sure to lock it out, because polycarbonate defiantly will set off the cartridge.

Without seeing your machine and it's starter I can't say for sure, but the 2 wires are a low volt circuit that completes the power to the contactor solenoid. @12 volts will go out to the switches wire...

Does your machine have micro switches on a lid, a door etc that when opened it will shut the machine down? Those switches will be low voltage and a link to the contactor on the starter.

To me it looks to serve the function of a half nut on a metal lathe, witch engages and disengages a lead screw. My guess would be to fine tune the width for ripping.

Arlin, when you have the design finalized and know it will work, if you need one that is a bit more durable, I can mill you one out of High density plastic or aluminum.
